Song Story:
Echoes of
Columbine
(back
to music page)
Echoes of Columbine came about after watching the 'Bowling for Columbine
' movie, the whole idea of the way the US accepts guns in society is peculiar
for us in Australia, it is so obvious that having firearms so accessible creates
problems that have terminal results!

Echoes
of Columbine:
Verse1:
I
walk down your dirty city streets and the school bells ringing, school
bell is ringing
Choose
from the Oozy tree and the street kids slinging street kids are slinging
It’s
the way you think brings the world to the brink, I can’t believe the
scenes I am seeing.
Chorus:
Echoes
of columbine, echoes of columbine are calling me.
Echoes
of columbine, echoes of columbine are calling me.
Verse2:
Dubya
got wind of the columbine thing, “ooh yea” it makes me mad,
We
have to go to war to be sure to be sure, just like my dad,
Masses
of Weapons we know they exist we got the receipts from 1986!
Verse3:
Contra
deals and Watergate, Lewinski got some head of state, believe me it’s
true,
Like
father and son there’s more work to be done in the name of the red
white and blue.
Number
41 and 43, sitting down for Sunday tea, well I can Yank your doodle too.
Verse4:
Try
to lay back just kind of relax, ‘oh no’ here comes the news
Pass
the remote cause the TV’s a joke, I gotta wipe the crap from my shoes,
Back
to the street it’s a little more discreet, I don’t feel so blatantly
used.
